"GSS events bring students together outside of class and help them build a social network beyond their specific programs"
GSS arranges events for BI's Master students throughout the school year, including...
MASTER THESIS MEET N’ GREET
Organized in collaboration with BI Master Administration and Career Services, this event is aimed at assisting BI Master students in getting in contact with companies and organizations. Different companies are invited to BI to give a presentation of their main work and objectives, as well as areas of future research interest. Master students are encouraged to use this opportunity to pair up with companies for a potential mutual collaboration on their Master Thesis.
FROSH WEEK
Frosh week is a hugely important event, taking place in the beginning of each academic year. Its purpose is to allow opportunities for all the students at BI to get to know each other, socialize and feel more comfortable in their new surroundings. The preparations for these events take place at the end of each academic year, and the events themselves – at the beginning of the next academic year.
GALA DINNER PARTY
The Gala Dinner Party takes place at the beginning of the second semester. It is organized as a formal dinner with entertainment for all Master Students at BI. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to come together and catch up after the Christmas Break, as well as integrate the new Exchange Students coming to BI for the second semester from abroad into the social life.
SLED DAY/SKI TRIP
The Sled Day combines the fun of outdoors, snow and pleasurable interactions, which everyone will be able to attend and participate in, with no previous skills necessary.
This year GSS also plans to take the BI Master students on a trip to Hemsedal to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and skiing in this wonderful resort.
END OF YEAR INDIVIDUAL CLASS PARTIES
Since the students within each class interact on daily basis, they form very strong bonds and friendships. In order to support these types of connections, GSS will allocate certain amount of its funding to each class in order to organize their own end-of-year parties.

FRIDAY BEERS
The purpose of the Friday Beer events is to maintain constant interaction with the graduate student community at BI and provide recreational activities for the students and get to know each other better. These events take place at different venues, including various bars/pubs/lounges in Oslo, bowling, themed parties, etc.
